serving the homeless and underprivileged adults and children of greater Sarasota Florida Its mission is to provide critical humanitarian aid and community outreach programs to low and fixed income families. We also help build strong families, encouraging and empowering their desire for brighter future. The community store is open 6 days a week. 100% of all donations, proceeds and Community Store sales are used to provide our services. Our free services, provided to pre-screened families, include basic life needs such as food, clothing, educational supplies and enhancements. Counseling, career development, spiritual guidance, and referrals for housing, shelter and crisis networks are available. Our network includes referrals both to and from United Way 2-1-1 of Manasota, Goodwill and the Salvation Army. We also provide clothing and food on an emergency basis to needy families. More than 700 people are helped each month in our facility. One priority is a Food Distribution program each Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This service provides healthy food boxes to more than 60 families. We also give away food boxes and/or gift cards at Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day. In addition, we work with the Mayor's Feed the Hungry Program by distributing food at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Each month we host a moderated "Meet and Greet" open forum on family, life, spiritual and career issues. Our official registration and financial information can be obtained from the Division of Consumer Services by calling 1-800-435-7352 within the state.
